THIS MESSAGE TARGETS PERSONNEL, ADMINISTRATIVE, DISBURSING, AND PASS OFFICES 
REGARDING CURRENT PAY/PERSONNEL ISSUES FOR BOTH ACTIVE AND RESERVE PERSONNEL. 

2. ISSUE 221601:  This PPIB provides solution for PDF signing/modification 
after removal of Internet Explorer (IE11) web browser.       

Beginning June 15, 2022 Microsoft will begin removal of their Internet 
Explorer (IE11) web browser in favor of Microsoft Edge.  The sunsetting 
of IE11 necessitates a number of settings changes to the Microsoft Edge 
browser on your NMCI workstation.  BUPERS CIO issued guidance documents
to assist NSIPS/BOL customers in setting-up their NMCI Microsoft Edge browser 
to open and use Adobe PDF documents associated with Navy Personnel Command 
Document Services.  

The correct settings will allow customers to sign and process documents 
like; Record of Emergency Data-Dependency Application (RED-DA), and Certificate 
of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD214) in NSIPS/BOL/Document 
Services environment.  

The guidance documents are posted and located in My Navy Career Center (MNCC) 
Home Sharepoint site under Plans and Programs Branch/Libraries/Shared 
Documents/Internet Explorer (IE11) Retirement folder.

To manually access the documents: 
-Log-in to MNCC Home Sharepoint site at: 
https://mpte.navy.deps.mil/sites/npc/pers2/SitePages/Home.aspx
-Click on - Plans and Programs Branch
-Go to Libraries and drop down menu
-Click on Shared documents
-Click on Internet Explorer (IE11) Retirement folder
	-Click on Edge for NSIPS for RED/DA settings
	-Click on Edge for BOL for DD 214 settings

NSIPS/BOL have been added to NMCI Enterprise-mode Site List which will negate 
the above changes. However, since this change may take a little time to propagate 
across NMCI network, while waiting for full deployment of these changes to all 
NMCI machines, the customers, can change their settings using the guide and continue 
processing documents without interruption.
